Even when the economy picks up again, many of them will simply continue to export skilled technical and back-shop jobs to places like India and China. We have no choice but to participate in a global economy, but are we really ready for what we're setting into motion?"
Though this is probably a good thing - innovation is not created by things standing still but by upheaval. The last few years have seen an upheaval of sorts; now the innovation has to come.
